Hey chap, I'm pleased with this approach to the tanking system too. It's a mix of many things combining to create a pleasant, balanced whole. Our mitigation is tied to many things; Passive, Long run buffs, Energetic mitigation buffs, enemy debuffs and a bit extra avoidance to boot. It *should* hopefully lead to a lovely, pretty concerned tanking system.
